Dr. Matt Cloutier, PT, DPT, MPT
I graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Biology in 2003. While there I also played tennis. I went on to East Carolina University, and graduated in 2005 with a Master of Physical Therapy degree.
After Physical Therapy school, I decided to become a traveling physical therapist. It allowed me to travel all over the country and helped me to determine exactly where I wanted to settle down. While traveling and working as a physical therapist, I was exposed to many different facilities geared toward training and rehabbing athletes. One of these facilities was IMG Academies in Bradenton, FL. I was able to spend many hours there treating and learning from the sports physical therapists. Spending time there allowed me to further develop my skills and deepen my passion for sports and orthopedic rehabilitation.
In order to develop further, I obtained a Corrective Exercise Specialist – CES specialization, and a Performance Enhancement Specialist – PES specialization. Both are from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). I have aspirations of becoming both an orthopedic and sports certified specialist.
My special interests include rehabilitation of the knee, shoulder, and ankle. When I am not working , I am spending time with my wife, Brittany and our daughter Addison. I like to be active by running, lifting weights, playing soccer and tennis, and watching my favorite sports teams.
